FELTMAKING
holding colour
After a training in Fine Art at Portsmouth Poly, I took a postgraduate Textile Art course at Goldsmiths College, London. Suddenly exposed to many textile processes at once, the very foreign medium of felting was the one I was drawn to.
It seemed possible to actually hold fibres and make marks that would finally be permanent, bonded surfaces.
From being a resident maker at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester for12 years, and honing this craft towards creating large scale hangings, I now work from my studio to commission, for exhibition and selling through a few galleries/ shops.
This coming year I am undertaking a large scale private commission , and have a solo show ' Primavera' at Prema Arts , Uley ( June / July ).
I will also be exhibiting at Take4 Gallery in Ledbury during H Art in September , with painter Caroline Green and jeweller Melissa Morgan. ( 7th Sep for 3 weeks at this new , vibrant gallery in the town. )
September 13th - 15th I will be showing at Breeze Art Fair at Trereife House , Penzance , Cornwall as part of the Textile Treasure exhibition in the main house.
